About Me
Hey! My name is Alex Booth, and I grew up in the small city of Manhattan, Kansas and earned my Master of Architecture from Kansas State University. I have traveled to 29 countries and lived in Prague, Czech Republic, Medellin, Colombia, Los Angeles, California, and now Seattle, Washington. I am licensed architect in the state of California. I spend my working time designing affordable housing and then I make small, playful earrings in my free time.
Built By Booth started as a way for me to explore design at a different scale. I love wearing earrings and found that a lot of simple, geometric pieces that I desired just didn’t exist, so I decided to create my own! I create pieces that echo the shapes, textures, and repetition I see in the world around me. I design and print each piece myself using plant and wood-based bioplastic, and I save all my scraps to remake into new designs.
When I’m not working or printing, I’m hanging out in a park in my hammock, playing with my cat Jetpack, or exploring the great Pacific Northwest.
